The tastytrade network has extensive programming on futures trading and in this post we'll highlight some new segments dedicated to this subject as well as the content within.

Last summer, Pete Mulmat from the CME Group started appearing regularly on tastytrade during the segment Closing the Gap. Pete has extensive experience trading a variety of futures products, including interest rates, foreign currencies, and equity indexes.

Alongside Tom Sosnoff and Tony Battista on Closing the Gap, Pete discusses the theory and structure behind futures strategies he has deployed in the past. Some of the topics covered by Pete during these early episodes included: gold, crude oil, corn, US government bonds, Japanese yen, and natural gas.

Pete's collaboration with the tastytrade team was so well received that he now works here full-time and now host two new shows, Future Measures, and Meet with Pete. In addition to that already busy programming schedule, Pete also appears on Where Do I Start: Trading Futures with Katie.

Future Measures is dedicated to providing regular programming on a variety of futures products and topics, while Meet with Pete is an interactive segment in which viewers can get in touch with Pete via phone, email, or twitter (@petemulmat) with questions.

On Where Do I Start: Trading Futures with Katie, Pete Mulmat teaches options trader Katie McGarrigle how to trade futures from the ground up. This is the first segment in the “Where Do I Start” series that is dedicated to trading futures.

The entire library of content from Splash into Futures with Pete Mulmat can be accessed here, while the Meet with Pete viewer interactive programming can be accessed here, and the Where Do I Start: Trading Futures with Katie can be accessed here.

For viewers who are new to futures, Pete’s kick-off Splash into Futures episode may be a great place to start.

On this segment, Pete takes a step back and provides a background on some critical fundamentals every trader should know before they get started deploying a futures strategy.

During the show, Pete walks viewers through much of the terminology used in futures trading as well as some important concepts every potential futures trader should know.

An example of some fundamentals reviewed in this episode are depicted to the right:

The first viewer interactive episode of Meet with Pete is similarly a great place to begin your futures education. On this segment, Pete receives some interesting questions about both real scenarios and hypothetical questions from viewers such as yourself!

tastytrade is extremely proud to have added Pete Mulmat, the former Director of Education at the CME, to the team and we truly hope you enjoy these sessions.
